Information Brakes processes

Brakes processes the minimum information needed to provide its website-blocking, focus-session, and local-statistics features.

Website domains selected by the user

Brakes stores the domain names that a user explicitly adds to their blocklist, such as youtube.com. These domains are used to create local blocking rules.

Blocked-site activity

When a user attempts to open a domain that is already on their blocklist, Brakes may store:

• the blocked domain;
• the date of the attempt;
• the number of attempts for that domain; and
• whether the attempt occurred during a focus session.
